My friend and buddy Joe did something very special, so I came here today for a test run, just a few swings, and NO edit, just raw. this is the plumb peacemaker, a new axe handle / palmswell making it look like a pistol handle. The idea is that when i send the axe i will have a shape fitting my hands as i end the swing. i can tell just from this i enjoy this new shape very very much. there is a ...

My Boreal Mountain Anorak Why i use Wool in the woods
Awesome axe Thomas, many years of enjoyment to be had with that collins. Take good care Sir.
Another splendid time in the forest, very refreshing . As always , thank you for another great video.
Beautiful axe, just gorgeous ! I just reached out to Keen Timber and Tool, Zac is only 2 hour drive from where I live in North Carolina . Thank you Sir, for sharing your woodland/over night experience
30:23 "let me show you, picking you up, tossing you around" Your humor is epic ! Enjoy spending time with you in the forest mate .
Thx man.... I do my best to make it work
In Denmark i have a small place to camp and free hands to do it... Wild camping in Denmark is illegal
I may be a few years late to the party but your videos are great. I hope you get back to making content again. How have your elk skin gloves been? And how would you compare them to the original ones you used?
Are you still sleeping with the axe?
Hahah no But she's safe in my gear room
Greetings from North Carolina,,, Splendid, just splendid mate. Enjoy seeing people living and enjoying nature with their axe.
Thx so much...thx for the positive spirit
The GB looks like the Scandinavian forest axe, not the small forest axe
Very nice axe!
The Gransfors Bruks small forest axe is a bit expensive but worth every penny, I love mine. I am also fortunate enough to have found a vintage made in England (unknown brand) 2 1/4 lb axe that is very good.
Very positive feedback...I like it.. would love to see your vintage axe
What crud model. ?
Where do you park the Volvo while splitting wood?
What do you mean
Perfect video, good axe 🙌🏻💪🏻
Oh yes, thats a pretty nice hatchett! I didn't use h., only axes, but this one would be a re-think about. The grinds are from factory, or made by your own? Nice place, nice vid, nice channel, nice guy..! The only thing i didn't like is your sayin' 'boys and girls'. Your viewers are adults, maybe you can change to 'men's and woman's'.. Greetings
Hello Thomas, This is a beautiful outer layer/Anorak! Yes, Wool is coming again! Here in (South)Germany the last 10-15ys it has a Comeback, or at least the old Military Stuff in our collection got new pieces. In Hunting, Bushcraft, Wilderness Trainings and Allround-Outdoors. It has for sure something to do with 'Tradition', also with a lil bit ecologic awareness, but they simple practical! We have two high recommend companies Mufflon and Steinkauz, where worked with Loden. And also Meindl and Pfanner has his own collections. All of them are High Quality, that has evtl his price.. but they are wonderful clothes. In Hunting, the Lodenmantel has always fans! Also Rucksacks and Bags. I dream till today from a Loden-Waidsack, but i never buy a one. The english people have Tweed, we have Loden.. ^^ and i am pretty sure, that if i would be born there, i would wear nothing else! Because it hasn't a Stigma of awefulness like ours in the last decades. Also you see more often ..Strickjacken und -pullover.. with better wool, and the Merino in all Variarions you talk about are wide spread! Greetings!
Have you tried a Tuatahi Trapper with the 2.2lb head? I have one with a 19” handle and it’s impressive.
Do Joe make handles for sale? Do he have a website or a last name?
Hey you should do a video of your axe collection. A head to head battle between the Collins legitimus and the tassie.
Link to Oliver not working.
You talk way too much in your videos bro
Thank you..... Let me see your videos And your private woodland and your plus 50 custom axes...❤️ Nooo? Then sit down
@@ThomasMartzak 😢 you win I’m sitting down now
I think yr GB is a hatchet? I have the Small Forest Axe, and it seems (on my lil cell phone screen) yr handle is shorter?! Impressive what you have done with it. I agree with some of the comments here, that GB is way overpriced. It's not about the performance, but i think i should have had not buy them. For me, the high price is a caretaker of it, and so i seldom use it.. I should have taken a Canada Iltis (Ochsenkopf) because i've learned how to handle an axe some 35 yr ago as i become a logger, and with a Iltis Axe. That's the common all-purpose here in South Germany. And in a Wilderness School i Always recommend this Type for every kind of 'Beginner' or as 'one axe one life' kind of thing. At one point in life you will have 'the better stuff', 'handforged' and that sh*t, and sure, the SFA can handle it. But i really didn't think, after a few dec., that a 800g CI, i've learned in direct comparison that she worked -for whatever reason- more precise, that this would be a worse deal. She could do anything what the GB can do, but for the half price.. Also i think the Quality cannot be more bad; or maybe something only a metal or steel guy can understand.. Another thing: can you made a pattern from that super duper Axe Handles. Esp. the one of yr friend. Simple lay it on a paper and draw in a 90° angle the outlines. Complete till over the head. (Ich übertrage dann diese auf Karton, hängen diese auf, ich/wir sind immer am Sammeln von guten Mustern für selbstgemachten Stiele!) If you are willing to do this, send me a message, i send you a letter plus a stamped envelope. Greetings
We need more Videos like this one!🔥🪓🪵👍🏽
Thx so much
The best camp axe in the world - is a saw! Much cheaper, much quicker and much safer than an axe. You sure have a lot of experience with axes - I see that from the careless handling at wood splitting, no regard to safety at all. Cut some wooden wedges and a baton with a saw and a knife and split the wood by cutting a notch into the face of your firewood and then go on with the wedges, no flying logs all over the place like yours.
i can’t find anything on midwestedgeworks???
The name changed to Harperhandle
thank you.
Is there a brand (not too expensive) who is still selling Old Tassies in a modern style?
Thank you! I’m just wondering about the use of wool and the moth when storage the pack. What are your thoughts about?
I keep a small Pouch of cedar wood shavings on a carabineer...then clip it on when in storage.... ✅
she’s a beaut
You're a genius! I'd for sure copy you with attaching the Singi sleeves right behind the Värmland side pockets! Thank you! By the way, what gloves are those? I'm unsure about Sasta vs. Hestra 3 season outdoor gloves for myself
I grew up, and still live near, Collinsville Connecticut. You have a piece of our states extensive manufacturing history. It brings me joy to see someone so far away restoring these tools and treating them with respect. Take care of it, and your grandkids will be sharing the same joy you show in this video.
I promise I will... It was a very informative and kind way to reach out to me.... This tool is still here and will remain here for years and years to come
How does a water bladder work in the Sabre 45? It does not appear to be designed for one. Thanks
Absolutely beautiful, my friend.
What a fantastic axe. Your friend has crafted a masterpiece. The atheistic of the mirror polished edge to the sequential grain rings with the curve and swell, is pure beauty! I could almost palpably feel your enjoyment that the muscle memory from the touch in running your hands up and down brought to you. Enjoy your friendship and your axe.
A pleasure to watch you geeking out about axes! For me the best camp axe is probably a hatchet. Cheers.
You can browse the entire RUclips about axes and there’s ONE brand that will come up every time: Gränsfors. Then youll have Fiskars, Hultafors and a varieté of american brands. But still the benchmark seems to always comes back to Gränsfors. Though that said, they are pricey.
i know the feeling.....i have two pre 1960 collins axes from pa US and one smaller axe from germany, a few others in my cllection......some people just dont understand a man and his axe....
I absolutely agree....thx for getting back to me here in the comments
I find peace in your videos. For many of the same reasons you do. Please keep them coming. Ron. Montana, USA
Thx so much for your time to share this with me...it's my hobby and passion. Thx Ron
I just ordered a Tiuatahi camp axe so I’ll compare it to my GB’s.
I own several GB’s and I mostly use the Scandinavian and the wildlife hatchet. The American felling axe is impressive. GB uses fantastic steel. My small GB hatchet is always with me hunting.
Interesting. The red and white flag patch sewn on your backpack looks very familiar. 🍁🍻
A gift from a friend in Canada...he made me an axe handle and we share many stories
Pull the saw, do not push it. No two hands are needed. You can do it with one hand easily if done correctly
What is the capacity of the backpack? How many litres?
35 Liters 🎒
Like the EMBLEM
Lovely axes man
Beautiful axe, greetings from Australia.
You're not an old man by my standards 😊
would you recommend this axe or are there better ones in this price range? Thanks!
Is there predators in Denmark? Bears, Wolves or Lynx? Or maybe giant wild boar?
Very few wolves...very. like 25 they just came back a few years ago and wild boars in habitat's....closed off

Excellent video and awesome axes! Was a pleasure seeing that anniversary edition being used.
Now that you’ve had the camp axe for a while, so you like the 24” handle or would you prefer 28”?
For my use. Never a 28.... Never. All my axes come here and work low next to the ground. 24 is perfect. I have a 3lb Connie on a 24 also... That's a power axe I have a Hytest Tassie on a 25 inches 🪵🪓 now that's an axe
